The jacket can be doubled up as a full sleeved jacket or a shirt, and has been reproduced using vintage Kantha Appliqué bedspreads designs, taking inspiration from Kareena's childhood bed linen. The silhouette features a Cuban collar, relaxed shoulders and button fastening in the front.

Each piece will be one-of-a-kind, with variations in colour of the kantha stitch, and appliqué fabric, which is part of its characteristic as a handmade fabric.

Craft

Our Tusker Kantha Appliqué shirt features the intricate juxtaposition of two ancient Indian crafts: appliqué and kantha. Both the crafts developed as a means of mending old clothes in ancient India, and continue as traditions to date.
Appliqué applies colourful fabric to a base garment, whereas kantha features a running stitch throughout the length of the fabric.
